An agri-tech and new materials startup originating from the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology (OIST). It manufactures and sells a superabsorbent polymer (EFP) that is fully organic and fully biodegradable, and the only one in the world to have obtained organic certification.
Agri Sector
By applying EFP to farmland, it is expected to reduce water usage by up to 40%, reduce fertilizer usage by up to 20%, while increasing yields by 10-15%.
New Materials Sector
EFP can also be used as an alternative to existing chemical polymers used in sanitary products and everyday items, serving as a gel for ice-packs, a thickener in cosmetics, and we have begun R&D for repurposing it into absorbent sheets for sanitary napkins and diapers.
