Sakanotochu (On-the-Slope), offers a range of pesticide and chemical fertilizer-free agricultural products under the vision of "Farming for the Next 100 Years." What sets us apart is our dedication to supporting new entrants to farming, comprising approximately 80% of our partner farmers. Even if these farmers produce high-quality goods, they often face challenges in accessing markets due to their limited and variable production. To bridge this gap, we have implemented a robust system that ensures fair pricing for their premium produce, encouraging and empowering more farmers to embrace environmentally sustainable agricultural practices.
In addition to our agricultural initiatives, Sakanotochu is engaged in the project called "Uminomukou Coffee (Coffee Across the Sea)." This project focuses on elevating the standard of high-quality coffee production in the rugged terrains of Southeast Asia. This project is driven by a dual mission - to foster forest conservation and bolster local incomes. By cultivating exceptional coffee in these regions, we're crafting a win-win scenario that preserves vital ecosystems while improving livelihoods. Sakanotochu continues to flourish as a pioneering social venture in the realm of agriculture.
